Idea to make waiting easier

I can handle the first 18 days--I get to turn the eggs several times a day and candle them a couple of times. Plus, I can repeatedly calculate potential hatch rates, mentally design new coops and runs, ponder bigger and better incubators, hover over my brooder comtemplating better designs, and, well...periodically just twitch.

It's those last three days, where I'm not allowed to do anything hands-on with the eggs...just stare at the incubator...and stare...check temp...check humidity...stare some more...Oh look! There's a pip! No, wait, that's just a shadow...stare some more... Did I hear a peep?! That sounded like a peep! Nope, just the four year old in the other room making wierd noises...more staring... check temp again...huh, nothing's changed. Dang good thing I'm going to work tonight--it's day 19 and I think I have a perma-twitch in my left cheek.

<sighhhhhh>
