Ideal Hatcery"sold out until June"

chick shortage. I kinda believe it Welp has me set back to may. Never seen an order moved that far. But if you guys look around some hatcheries are not maxed out. I was able to order.... can't say the number yet between 100-1000 chicks and were able to make them in at any time. You just need to look around for a hatchery.

I found you can still listen to the show from that day on the web. I am listening to it right now to see what they say. I think it is because Backyard Chickens have become popular now.

Because more & more people are interested in keeping chickens. This phenomenon has been developing for a couple of years now. The local feedstores here have sold over 2,00 chicks/year for the last couple of years & this year are expecting to di even more. Five years ago it was more like 300-400 per year.

I was doing some searching today just dreaming really as I don't need anymore chicks with 50 chicks on order, 2 'bators full, and several hens of my own already but this might help some folks

It has lists of hatcheries in several different states. Maybe one of them might have a breed you want if the hatchery you were going to order from is sold out.

There is a shortage due to the big demand for them. I know at Townline hatchery where I work that demand for chicks is so good that no pullets have been wasted. More people are raising their own food. We have a very good supply of the best layer there is the Isa Brown in about 3 weeks.
