Has anyone purchased Brahmas from Ideal and used them as a dual purpose bird? I've seen pictures that look like they're nice and big, and could be even bigger after a few generations of selective culling, but I've also seen claims that no Brahma you get from a hatchery will ever be large enough for DPing. Thoughts?

My old roo Alan looked huge like a small turkey. At around eating age he had an untimely end I decided to fry him and once I got him plucked he was actually pretty small. Not that I was dissatisfied he was good but was more of a poof ball at good eating age.:idunno

Brahma take a long time to fill out. Nearly 2 years to reach the large size. When young enough to be tender they would've a lot of big bones and not much meat.

Better to do red rangers IMHO.
