I ordered 15 Red Broilers from Idea and they put in 10 packing peanuts. Do any of you have a clue what they could be other than white?

Looking through Ideal's list, most are sold out. Assuming these are Large Fowl and not Bantams, they can be one of the following in-stock breeds:

New Hampshire
Production Red
Rhode Island Red
Barred Rock
Black Sex-link
Ameraucana
White Leghorn
California White
Ideal 236 (Leghorn)

After looking at the images at MyPetChicken...
Maybe? New Hampshire. Leghorns are lighter chicks, though, and these are pretty light.
NOT - Production Red - see below
NOT - Rhode Island - those are darker
NOT - Barred Rock
Probably not - Black Sex-link - they don't have an image, but the BLACK part makes it unlikely.
NOT - Ameraucana - the legs are the wrong color
Could be any of the Leghorns.

Summary: I think New Hampshire or Leghorn, most likely Leghorn.

Pale,

The dark ones are Red Broilers. The ones in question are the yellow chicks which will be white when they are grown. Welcome to the forum!

I am guessing leghorn roosters, as they would have a lot of them left over after sexing for the customer who want only egg-laying machine hens.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for a while.

I think I agree about them being Leghorns. I also agree that, being extras, they're most likely roosters.

Do any of y'all know how long it would take to grow a leghorn roo big enough to eat?
