This is my first time ordering from a hatchery online so I'm not really sure of the process that occurs. Will Ideal Poultry send me an email when they ship my birds? I got a phone call today saying that they would be shipped out today (It is two weeks early.) if I was okay with it and I confirmed it was alright to send them out today. Will I still get an email? I'm hoping to get a tracking number so I can watch my birds through the process of shipping, though I'm unsure if I will need to directly email them to ask for it or if they'll just send it to me themselves.

PLEASE be aware of something. Your post office is supposed to call you as soon as the chicks get there. Chances are, the call will come as soon as the post office opens around seven in the morning. However, some P.O. are not bright. They will refuse to notify you until half an hour before closing.
I’m not the only one with bad experiences. Please be at the post office first thing the morning they arrive (tomorrow?).

I never received an email from Ideal. I ordered last year.
The chicks arrived in less than 24 hrs from the ship time. The PO did call but I was expecting it to take another day. I learned not to wait until the day before to set up the brooder.

Wow thanks for the prompt responses you guys! I had intended on callign all of my post offices up early in the morning. (There's 3 that I recieve mail from that are really close.) I'll be sure to email them tomorrow for a tracking number if i never recieve one.
