IDEAL Poultry....they fixed everything

ive gotten HUNDREDS,, many hundreds from ideal, and have had 3 or 4 die on me, and 1 with a deformed foot,, i talk with missy, she the bomb

and they have always gone good for it. and it isnt "their" eggs,, all these hatcheries get eggs from a "egg outlet" that services most the major hatcheries.

I've only ordered from Ideal twice. My first shipment in August had 1 bantam cochin chick with a deformed toe...it was turned like a horseshoe. I immediately called them and they gave me a refund for that chick, plus they refunded my money for a chick that I told them wasn't looking very good, but it did live. I have nothing bad to say about them regarding their customer service. I also just received an order last Friday of 9 chicks, plus they sent 8 extras....all very healthy and alive when I picked them up. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Ideal, but as someone else posted, check their business hours. They won't respond until their back in the office. Just be patient, hang in there...I feel confident they'll make it right.

Sorry, I did read it, just blended it with 2 others. Pardon my confusion.

I somehow merged in my mind your OP with 2 others of Crazychickenlady's, by the time I got to the end of the thread. She had lost the only one in her batch she cared about, and I saw your costs of $160.

I've ordered from Ideal twice. First time, back in April, everything was great. The chicks looked good and healthy. Only one died in shipment.

A couple of months ago, I ordered a few more. My BRs aren't near as pretty. The barring is just not coming in good. And, one has a deformed neck, looks like a Z, and a crooked beak. He eats fine, so as long as he's not suffering, I guess he'll be around. Overall, not as happy as with first shipment.

I wonder if time of year affects who the get their eggs/chicks from, ultimately affecting quality??

But, I do have to say that their customer service has always been great to deal with.

Ideal has always treated me very well, the chicks were all quality, healthy and I was treated excellent by customer service..used to order from Murray, but Ideal is cheaper, has just as good or better birds and is much cheaper on shipping!! I think just a fluke thing, try them again and call during business hours...they are at least 1 hour behind you...maybe 2. Jane

Theres another post on ideal and one of the owners posted givnig her phone number and direct email and said if anyone has any problems to contact her.

I have ordered from Ideal in the past many times and have never had any difficulty with customer service or the chicks I have gotten. You can have a bad experience with any hatchery but I think that those type situations are rare considering how many chicks they ship every day. Put things in perspective.
