Ideal Poultry?

My past experiences with ordering ducks was excellent. I had ordered them from Metzer Farms and i guess i just expected that Ideal would be just as good. I guessed wrong and will never order from them again.

I think Metzer includes a heat pack and Gro-gel (or at least gives you the option), correct? I believe those things would make a HUGE difference.

i m going to be ordering form Metze farm pretty soon i got all my duck from here at home almost all my scovy ame from my friend and the mallards i got came from tsc i m going to get me some pekin ducklings this year but i only have to walk threw my pasture to my friends house and get some from her she is always filling me up with ducks every year

I ordered 6 ducklings from Ideal about two months ago (in the dead of winter). Three Khaki Campbells and three Blue Swedish. They all arrived healthy and well along with 12 packing peanuts. I was able to find a taker for the roosters with no problem. I am sure they are in the freezer by now. The ducks are all alive and very funny. However, the Khaki Campbells are almost perfect yet the Blue Swedish do not look like any Blue Swedish I have ever seen. One, I think the male, is probably actually a Black Swedish while the two others are speckled grey and white and I suspect are actually a mix of Swedish and something else. I like the fact that my location was overnight delivery which may be why they all survived so well. In the future however I will order from someone that charges extra for small orders and not have to deal with the little guys they include for warmth.
