For me it is not so important whether they are EE's or Ameracaunas - not for breeding.

hippie, she was the spradled leg hen we got in shipment yesterday morning. She has started drinking and i think i saw her eating a bit so keep fingers crossed for her. She has stayed fairly active so i think she might just make it. Still not sure about the wife though. lol

I should be sorry, Jen, as a newbie the whole Aracauna/Ameracauna/EE thing is still a puzzle to me. I was a little disappointed about the response I got from Ideal when I specifically asked if the parentage was Ameracauna and not Easter Eggers.

However, I have learned to differentiate the Arau from the Amera. The sad thing is I just don't have the heart to tell one of my friends that the flock that she thinks are Aracaunas are really EE's. She loves her birds and I don't think it would matter to her.

I just can't wait to see what color the eggs will be. Are you close to ordering?

Mine come on tuesday or wednesday. I have the big brooder in the garage & a smaller one inside for the first day & trips inside to play.
