I got 6 runners from ideal, 2 girls, 4 straight run(ended up being 2,2) because I had eggs in the bator and they kept quitting so I was getting discouraged. A week after they got here I had 2 ducklings hatch but one passed after 2 days

, .1 left that was Blue. We decided to put Blue with the bigger ducklings. We always thought he was trying to make himself look bigger (being a week younger)but as they all matured we realized his posture was just like the pics we have seen of runners and the ideal runners don't

. Blue was hatched from Metzer stock, ideal looks like they were crossed with?

Not a great pic but you can see...

They may just be poor quality. Do you have any pics? My runners came from Metzer and were great quality. Very upright stance. Do your Ideal ones stand upright at all? When frightened or lookimg at something?

Not really

they look fat compared to blue

. I will try to get a pic but my phone doesn't take good moving pics and one of my kids has my camera ...

Hmm. If they are runners, even poor quality, they should stand upright occasionally. Pics will help others to at least guess what they may be. Have you contacted Ideal? How old are they?

Well, they do have the fawn and white coloring but they don't look like runners. They are a little more upright than other breeds but it would not be my first guess.

There's one at our lake that looks like your crested one. I think there is some runner in him, but not much. He can also fly, which is also not really a runner trait. I don't know exactly what you got, but they're pretty.

I would like to know what they are, too.

Here are my ducklings out of my Metzer ducks. Even at a few day olds, you can see how tall they stand.

Klf73, do you like/enjoy them? If you do, then oh well. If not, rehome etc and order some ducklings from somewhere else. I would still contact Ideal. Granted they don't have pics of their actual ducks but the drawings are VERY unrealistic if that is what they are sending. They do have a disclaimer on their site so you are probably SOL.

Sorry.
