Ideas about treats?

Hi everyone, now that it's summer and getting very hot, I was wondering if anyone had some diy ice treats to help cool the chickens down when they're hot. And anything that would be apropriate for my five week old chicks as well would be great.

Hi everyone, now that it's summer and getting very hot, I was wondering if anyone had some diy ice treats to help cool the chickens down when they're hot. And anything that would be apropriate for my five week old chicks as well would be great.

You can give them watermelon pieces/ rinds! Other fruits and veggies too, cucumber, berries, etc. Shade, fans, free ranging time, and dust bathing spots help, too.

Frozen fruit. Or I like to take a plastic container like a clean sour cream/yogurt/cottage cheese container and freeze some water with fruit in it and put that in a bowl for them to play with.

Cool treats won't help them cool down much but cool, damp dirt bathes, deep shade and fresh water will help.
