Really? She said there were ameraucana's! They sure do look like Easter Eggers though!!Easter Eggers.
They lay blue/green eggs!Easter Eggers.
Easter Eggers can lay just about any color egg. You never know for sure what color a pullet will lay until she actually starts laying, that's why they are called Easter Eggers. Most birds sold as Ameraucana are actually Easter Eggers. Most hatcheries sell Easter Eggers as Ameraucana.Really? She said there were ameraucana's! They sure do look like Easter Eggers though!!
Do Easter Eggers have tented green/blue legs too?
I will!I love my RIR! I'm thinking about maybe getting some Buff orpingtons! i don't really know a lot of chicken breeds, but i know a few now because of you guys!!
There really cute at Theisen's! I really want friendly and loving chickens!
Thanks so much for your advice!
It can take a bit to learn breeds, but just keep paying attention to people's information and look up chicken breeds and try memorize what each one looks like.Chicks are adorable!
You're most welcome

The easiest way to tell if you are getting Easter Eggers or Ameraucana is color. Ameraucana always have a color/variety specified, just like any other purebred breed. If no color/variety is specified, you can be pretty certain you are getting Easter Eggers.
Easter Eggers tend to be much better layers than Ameraucana.
What are you feeding? How old?I have 5 Ameraucana's or Easter Eggers and only 1 is laying! I have had them since July!!
I don't know why there not laying! I've tried everything! My parents think I should sell the 4 that are not laying! I don't want to butcher them!
Any advice??
Prosper! It's 16% protein! I get it at Theisen's. I wanted to feed them Nutrena feed but i couldn't afford it. When i get chicks i will probably give them Country feeds Chick Starter Grower! Have you ever used Country feeds before? I haven't. Any ideas for any chick starter food? I don't really want to use Purina. What are you feeding? How old?
