ideas for crappy locks on producers pride sentinal coop

i lovethe coop it is perfect for what i need it for, but the latches are pure crap. i am having a hell of a time finding a way to secure them. so if anyone has this coop and has figured that out, please let me know. thank you. they are the 3 step slide latch thingies and carabeaners, zip ties and the usual tricks dont work im stumped and peeved

They're a type of slide latch. You flip it up to open it and down and pull it to 'secure' it. Depending on of the prongs are bent enough, it either is pretty decent or almost useless

The tough part is that they're diverted into the door, not screwed, so removing and replacing isn't always possible if you don't have the right tools

A drill would work.

Or just add new hardware and don't use the existing.

Drill bit just larger than the divot in rivets will cut the metal allowing the rivet head to fall off. You can then use screw driver or nail punch to push it through or leave it as the latch will com off once the river head is cut free will the drill bit.
