I used to pay $50/week, when we had a home daycare. I didn't have time to detail clean, and with the state inspections someone had to scrub to bathtubs.

I guess it's the area. Lots of things are way expensive here and the taxes! Don't get me started!!

I've seen ads for as high as $350 self care and then partial care runs from $250 to $450.

I know in KY full mare care can run anywhere from $14 to $20 a day depending on the facility. But you still have to cover vet and farrier bills.

Paper route. We get our paper about 5:30am and I know people who do that and then go to full time work later.

I think that most people don't do something they really, really love, but they do something that puts food on the table and makes life comfortable. Hopefully when you are done with school you'll be able to find something better.

What are you going to school for?

I was going to do nursing but I am even bummed on school right now. I am fixing to drop 2 classes because I can't afford to drive it. It is over an hour there then that back again. But I am not quitting just narrowing it down. Already tried the paper route deal they actually have a list of people waiting to take on routes. Pizza delivery was a good idea but they stay full on employment here and there isn't a lot of area they can cover because we are rural.

Nursing would be great, they are always needed! Can you take online classes instead?

....get on the list for paper route. Maybe the routes have fast turn over. Wouldn't hurt to put both your name and your husband's down.

Woman, go forth and persevere!

Well if what you want to do is grow something on your land I would suggest using that pond for some type of aqua culture - talk to your local ag extention they will give you lots of ideas about what will work in your area and maybe even loan youmoney to get started- what come to my mind is crawdads. Also if your ground is fairly damp I w ould plant berries and have another go at the jam thing. I know a lady who really makes that work here, she grows all of her own ingredients. again your ag extension office can help you determine what will grow and what will sell and what new ideas to try.

Ebay! People will buy anything! If you can make metal art or sew something it might sell well. Just price it very low to start and charge enough shipping to include your time, boxes, packing and the post office fees. Then it just involves a trip or two to the post office every week. No sitting at flea markets trying to sell to a limited number of customers.

And it doesn't hurt to take another look at the budget. Is there still stuff to cut? Cable, cell phone, magazines, eating out, switching from name brands to store brands, drop back to dialup internet, less trips to town (I make it a game, how long can I go before I have to break down and go to town -- then, how much can I accomplish in this one trip??)

Sometimes if you can't get the income up, you have to get the expenses down more.

good luck, you're getting lots of good ideas and something will spark!
