I'm going to be bringing 3 chicks home for a breeder 3 1/2 hours away. Is there a way to keep them warm in the car? I was thinking a Stanley thermos of boiled water with water bottles I can fill and change out. Heating pads, I was planing to utilize our last 110 days to heat a pad on the roof secured with a magnet or rubber band and interchange. Another craziwr idea was cutting out a corner of the box and curling around it so they can use my body heat. I guess they were right about the crazy that comes with chickens, but I'd love to hear any advice, my current plan is a bit primitive.

Oh I forgot to add they'll be a heat lamp and larger brooder waiting for them at home but I don't want them to get chilled in the car.

I would think, in Arizona on a hot day, just not running your air conditioner would be enough. If you just have to use your air conditioner, a hot water bottle, in a box with a cover, should do the trick. You can always reheat them with the car engine. Wrap the water bottle in foil and tuck it into a corner where it is secure. Some people cook meals that way, on long road trips.

Just get a couple of instant heat packs the kind for your feet in winter. Place under the bedding. Keep in the back seat away from the ac. I had a 4 hour drive home when I picked mine up and they were fine
