Ideas for space in the big coop for the little ones?

I think a dog crate is the best use of money , take out the floor pan and they’re on straw , slide it back in to move them , and it is very useful as a broody buster or sick coop. Put the pan on top so hens don’t poop on the Screw on bowls are available at any pet store.

Best bang for my buck

Also great for new chicks to put them on grass ... I use my two a lot .

So this is the setup right now. The nesting boxes on the left (the hens have knocked the partitions out, so now it’s just a big one). Roosts on the right with the door to the run under the roosts. View attachment 1486235View attachment 1486236

I sure don’t like your uncovered heat bulb and cardboard walls, you could pick up a cage for the bulb for safety .... they can explode . I use a heat lamp but with a mesh cover over it

NewIt’s out of service. I haven’t used it in years. I’m too paranoid about fires. I just haven’t removed it yet. We’re in the process of building a new coop. Thanks for the concern though! And the cardboard was stapled to the walls so my son could “draw pictures for the chickens” when he was little :)
