OK, so I currently have a small 3'x4' pen housing 2 male Texas A&M quail. I don't mind the quail but I mostly keep rare reptiles for my other pets. I'm looking for something a little cooler than these 2 coturnix quail. I understand the pen they are in is relatively small, i do have the option to add a run to it. Looking for ideas and they do need to be cold-tolerant as I do live in Maine.

Thanks in advance

I've never raised pigeons, but I am wishing you the best of luck!:)
I also love reptiles!
We both live in New England, so I know what the cold weather is like!
As you said above, you should expand your enclosure for your birds.

Yea i was kind of wondering about pigeons as well. its a very basic pen at the moment. I didn't want to do much to the pen until I decided what I wanted to keep in it. I will upload a pic of it tomorrow.

If you can upgrade to a pen/aviary combo, finches are an option, and some are beautiful. They get along well with coturnix, too, they don't get into each other's space at all. They do need height and flying space, too.
Whatever you end up doing, put in a sandbox for your quail if you haven't already, they'll love playing in it.
