Hi all new to this forum and was looking for help please, I’m in the UK living and long story short have acquired some birds through a friend, I was expecting them to arrive as welsummer bantams however I’m definitely sure there not and was hoping someone could identify for me. I’ve done abit Of research and I’ve come up with that there Black Breasted Red Phoenix bantams, hoping someone can shed some info on these please as don’t know much about them. Thankyou.

I think your research is good. I'm no expert on this breed but know that the Phoenix looks similar to OEGH but the hens do have that extended long tail. I don't have roosters so cant tell you much there.
WISHING YOU BEST and .......:welcome

Hi, thankyou and thankyou for you reply, it was the white earlobe that made me think that there Phoenix and happy to hear that you think I maybe right. Hard to find much about them over here they seem to be a rare bird. Do you know what Egg expectancy is with these ?

These are GREAT ORNAMENTALS, and not really egg machines. I keep OEGH. Have 2 right now. Egg production is on and off. Mostly Off.:gig
Here is my egg assortment. On the right is the egg from my banties.

Oh really, that’s not what I was really after but will give benefit of the doubt!!! Christ that’s a small egg!!

Left. almost jumbo from my Red Sex Link. Next, Large to XL from my RIR. Next from my Polish, medium size. The smallest is from my banties. They are small, Maybe your Phoenix is a slightly larger Bantam. You may get slightly larger eggs, but don't expect too big.

I have some Light Sussex bantams and the Phoenix is abit bigger than them but no I’m not expecting huge eggs!! Thanks for your comments by the way.
