Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I am going to go with jiffy wings bands. I'll order them online and test them out this summer.

Toe punch when they come out of the incubator, wing band approx 4 weeks, leg band around 8 months. Leg bands prior to 8 months will need to be changed. Big problem when chasing down more than a handful of growing birds, wing bands at 4 weeks give permanent id based on toe punch, toe punch (actually a razor blade to slice the webbing) coming out of the incubator allows all chicks to go in the same brooder.
