Can anyone identify this snake in nc?

Rat snake. Non poisonous. One of the good guys. See them in my yard quite often. This one was from a few years ago.

looks like maybe a rat snake to me

but if anyone got bitten go to a hospital. I thankfully live where there are no nasty snakes.

I have found hens with wet necks i think they choke them out, i am not sure why because they cannot eat them
