These chicks were abandoned and a neighbor brought them to me when they were about a week old, so they are maybe about 5-6 weeks old now. Any ideas on what breed they are? Sex?

Their legs are so yellow, Production Reds do have yellow shanks, but at first thought I was thinking some kind of hatchery New Hampshire. I agree with Peeka, I think you have a small group of pullets.

Thanks for responding, I was suspecting that someone ditched them because they thought they were roos. I already have a RIR, 2 Barred Rocks, 1 Buff Rock, and 1 Buff Orpington, and these little ones behave differently than the others at that age. They are braver, rowdier, yet more trusting.

They might have been packing peanuts. It's pretty rare for packing peanuts to be female. Your chicks appear to be pullets, though. Congrats!
