will someone tell me what it may have been that got one of my girls. she got a hurt leg the other day over estimating the exit door and hitting herself on the edge of the door itself. I think she broke a leg and there fore couldn't get up to roast at night. She wasy laying on a hay bale in the corner at night in the chicken house. Well something climbed up the gate and squeezed into the house through the crack at the top of the door. This morning I found the feather trail and saw her dead. Interesting. Nothing eat her breast meat and left the egg yolks. It looked like the killer only eat the lower organs. Does anyone have an idea. I think weasel?

How large it the crack above the door?

It's not very often do you hear of a single victim, especially with weasels. I'm going to guess raccoon, because of the parts eaten and the feather trail. I think weasels tend to kill on the spot and not drag their prey off.
