I am 24 hours into this after my friend told me that she got chicks and I should too. The store told me they should all be hens but I'm not too sure about this one. I think she's a Wyandotte. Or maybe it's a he?

Technically won’t be a hen until a year old but it is a female.

No. That only works for certain mix breeds. It is not reliable.
