Please help! I don't want to end up with a baby chick in my scrambled eggs

But could a chick even start to develop in a day or two?

you can check on the incubating pages about the time for development. But I don't think you see anything but blood vessels even after 3-4 days. And that's only at the right temp. If no hen setting on them, won't develop.

if you are unsure how long an egg has been laid, crack it in a bowl. if no surprises, eat it.

Incubation temp is around 100 degrees. I've never seen a developing chick in an egg, and I sometimes collect only at the end of the day, and temps certainly get to 100 around here.

But I still crack them into a bowl before adding to anything, even the frying pan.

I keep getting the OPPOSITE question from people. How can you have eggs with no rooster?! Sheesh. Did anyone take health class?
