i am thinking of blocking her off as DH is working a double and me and power tools could be scary

i was going to build her a little broody hut, but maybe i will just block her in and change out the nest tonight to something smaller - she is in a big plastic storage bin and it sort of takes up the whole area that will be blocked off. after reading some other threads and info on broody hens (she is my 1st) i see that i need to have enough room for food, water and a little pooping/stretching room. i have a smaller plastic bin "nest" i could switch her into..?

its only 12:30 so i am going to give it a go by myself with the power tools to see if i can put together something suitable for her?
oh goodness. wish me luck

Ms.FuzzyButts :

I have moved broodies on several different occasions.. I ususally do it at night and it works out just fine. But for the stubborn ones, I have been known to block them in the nest so they couldn't leave. After 1 day like that, they are good to go!!

I do the same. I always block them for 24 hours or so. After doing this, she has to be very broody for at least, 3 or more days. Almost never fails.
