If i put a shallow container of water in the pen will the chickens bathe in it?

I have white leghorns an though it doesn't bother me, they get really dirty and i want then to feel good and not stressed. Will they even get in it?

They might stand in it on hot days to cool their feet but no, they will not bathe in it. Chickens think of a dust bath as a way to clean out their feathers and feel good - they just don't think of a water bath the same way.

My chickens stand in water when it is hot but for the most part chickens take dirt bathes or dusting's
