If it made it a week... **update post #11 help please!**

Poor chick isnt doing well today. (apologize for my typing, im holding him in one hand typing with other) He continues to be lethargic, just standing there with its eyes closed, wings drooped. im holding him right now, he likes to lay on his back n my hand, goes right to sleep. im outside keeping an eye on my new free rangers. for some reason his legs/feet keep shaking like crazy, and occasionally he'll shiver, even though it is pretty warm out here. Why is that? What should i do??

Just start a new thread in the emergency section, like you started this one.
I was researching & found that chicks that seem uncoordinated or are trembling are suffering a lack of vitamins A & E.
In my post #8, I listed some foods high in these vitamins that you could feed her.
Good luck.

The only food on that list that we have is frozen broccoli. We aren't going to town again until Thursday.

Have you given him Poly v sol (without Iron ) yet?????
if not you need to, or if you have human Vitamin E tabs, cut the tip off it and squeeze the liquid into his mouth.
If you don't have anything like this, and you are really worried about him, then someone needs to go to town tonight...or he may not make it til then

could he b cold? I remember holding one of my sickly chicks that i was able to nurse back and the legs were shaking and i wrapped her up in a washcloth and got her really warm. I used save a chick and would mix that in the crumbles to make it wet. I gave the vitamins too. Fortunately I don't work and was able to hold her in the washcloth and try to get her to eat and drink every hour. about 36 hrs later she was better and is doing great out in the coop now. she was about 4 weeks when this happened and is now 10 weeks. it stunted her growth but she is slowly catching up to her sisters. It sounds like u r doing everything possible. Good luck and keep us updated!

He was shaking when I had him outside, and it was a 95 degree heat index today. Add to that my body heat... It's cooler in their box than it was outside today. I moved up the lamp today b/c I thought maybe he was getting too hot and that is why he was lethargic.
