In summer, I'd let them run naked outside. Garden hose works fine.......... of course wife had to be shopping as she never saw humor in it. We also live in country w/no close neighbors.
One of my granddaughters who will be 2 in december just recently went through that same kind of phase. Now she comes and tells me after the poo, but before she takes it off so the potty training has begun with her. I'm hoping her almost 18 month cousin who I also babysit will see what the other is doing and want to sit on the potty chair too. If you had told me 27 years ago I'd be going through potty training again I'd have told you, you were nuts!!
Oh how I do not miss those days, I loved when my children were small but I do not miss the potty training.
My kids all trained earlier than alot so can't complain there, although I did have three in diapers at the same time-twice. Not fun.
I did find with the boys it was easier to let them run around naked it you could and then catch them and put them on the potty.
Have yet to see or hear of one who didn't get over it. May be a little messy for awhile but it, like so many other annoying little behaviors, will pass. Trouble is they will exchange them for others. Say what you will, but it's never dull!

Even the 18 month old complains most of the time now right after the fact when she's got a dirty diaper. Since her mama's expecting another one in about 3-4 weeks I'm sure it would be great with her if she could get down to only one in diapers sooner rather than later!!
he is part ready for potty training.. I used cloth diapers when he was younger.. I did what they cal cue training.. I would look for cues that he was going to go.. it worked for about 8-9 months. He would start "pushing" I would snatch him up and stick him on the potty.. he didnt get the pee part till later.. but then I guess that phase was over and by the time he showed that he was pushing there was already a mess.. but with all that putting on the potty stuff he got the idea that he should pee.. so every time I put him on the potty he goes pee.. even if there is just a little bit. He does ask to go potty too... and when he askes he does go.. but he also has these "grrrrrr" moments when he just stays back in his room and does his thing... but he has known to go on the potty since he was 6 months old.. he is so very close...
AWwww man, why did I have to read this? My youngest just turned 7 mos 2 days ago, my 2nd youngest is 7 years. I had not started thinking about potty training.
