if they are sneezing...

I have read that people who were a little scared about giving a shot did put it on a piece of bread and gave it to there birds and it worked that way but I personally have always injected mine. but you will get different opinions from different people so you will have to make that decision. I have always used the tylan myself and it always worked for me when I had trouble..........

I would not give antibiotics unless you know for sure that's what they need. Have them tested. I have a Faverolles who sneezes for a week or so when it gets too dry, and then stops. It may be just dry dusty coop.
If you give them antibiotics when they don't need it, it may not work when they really do.

I have a 5 yr old Brahma hen who has been a habitual sneezer for almost her entire life. Some are just sneezers. Even a new coop with lots of new plywood, which is laminated with glues/resins, and new caulk, can make an entire flock start sneezing.

Besides, if there is really an illness, you have no idea if it's bacterial or viral. As in every case, antibiotics will not fix a viral infection. It's just a "shot in the dark", no pun intended.

I totally agree. At this point, I would isolate the sneezers and observe and wait. It really may be nothing.

lol, no, I really appreciate the responses. I do not know squat. I did call my vet, but he is out till Tuesday. These two that are sneezing now, they are 2 parts of my spring breeding plan, I paid a nice penny for the faverolle hen and rooster. I have only had one I'll chicken before, and I took him to the vet because I was worried for the rest of the flock. I had 22 at the time. I have since downsized to 10. Hawk took 2, dogs took one, and roosters went to fellow silkie breeder and 4 to freezer camp... And I am NEW to this, but loving every moment.
