If this is global warming....

That's why I left. Don't miss -40 degrees temps one bit (or the mosquitos, ticks and fleas.) Now I live in the desert, where is been raining for the last week. Go figure

I lived in Rock Springs, WY for years, so we were 2 hours from Salt Lake City. I always liked UT

We had a much cooler and wetter spring than usual -- so glad. It only got really hot maybe a couple of weeks ago. Plenty of rain this year, too -- after a drought the lat few years.

There's an interesting little article written a few years agoby the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and updated this year discussing how the GW enthusiasts have all but ignored the ocean currents in their development of GW "theories". I've long been an unbeliever in the brouhaha surrounding GW and I think this piece is pretty good at explaining my reluctance to jump on the band wagon. The life cycle of the Earth is too complex for current science, especially meteorology to know that is going to happen in 10 years never mind the next 100. Especially when they ignore what's going on in the oceans.

In a nutshell, the scientists behind this article see that while some of the earth is warming, the northern hemisphere is actually on a cooling trend. How perfect that I moved to northern MI! So far spring has been cooler than normal and the accuweather people are predicting another cold wet summer for us here.

Here's the link to the article I've been talking about.

That is really fascinating. Thank you so much for the link to that article! I remember reading in my farmers Almanac about how we have warm spells then cool spells. This cycles about every 20 years (20 +/- years warmer weather, 20 +/- years cooler weather) and they gave a chart that goes back to the 1800's showing tempature / weather patterns and it does show this 20 cycling. We are just coming out of the warm spell, and are due to start the cool spell.

I dont like global warming..
