If you could create a breed or a variety of a breed, what would you make?

He is colorful alright and much like a game roo but he only has a couple of spiked feathers on his head and no creast... He started out solid black and very much an ugly chick, but he sure is pretty now! Up side is, he has his dad's cool laid back disposition and is super attentive with the ladies! We have sold off most our hens and we now have only 8, and both Roos work the run without so much as a dirty look! :)

I wish I could make a full sized blue egg laying silkie! I love the silkie, but because they're so small, i'm always worried that the full size fowl are going to injure them, but my easter eggers have no desire to breed with my silkies! Do you guys have any ideas on how to make my silkie rooster want to mate with my easter egger hens?

Let's see:

English Orpingtons in a Blue-laced Red Variety
Javas in Blue (easy by crossing a Blue Jersey Giant onto them), Lavender, Blue Mottled, Lavender Mottled, and conversely because I'd be using Jersey Giants for some of the crosses the same colors could go to them.

And I am currently hunting up some gorgeous Blue/Splash and Lavender Orpingtons in order to create Silver-laced Blue/Splash and Silver-laced Lavender Orpingtons to incorporate into my Silver-laced Orpington breeding program. :)

I would go with a Silkie Rooster to the EE hens... They rehome a lot of Silkie roosters, so you can just about always find one. I have some from that cross, they lay green eggs, but you would have to take that hen back to the Silkie to get the Silkie fluff back...
