Either right where I am...it is home after all, or Southern New Mexico. Now that I no longer live there I miss Anchrage, Alaska but don't think I could live there again...I don't handle cold!!!!
I stay away from the south west and the west. sorry notmy neck of the woods.
As weird as it sounds, radcliff or elizabethtown Kentucky, hardin county in general. Its right near ft Knox.

ooh, never been there, but it does sound like Almost Heaven, West Virginia - wait, I have heard that before. LOL
Pick #1 Washington State, the cottage with the cat in the window.
Pick #2 Right here - beaches, mountains, streams and rivers with in striking distance. And as a 2nd generation San Diegan with 3rd generation kids - we are a rare breed - but just so you know - you all would hate it here, no need to come here unless for vacation. LOL
We'd like to live in or near Hickory, NC. Someday, if we can ever sell what we have now...we can't take these dry summers where everything is brown by the end of June...

I had a friend that grew up in the Great Lakes area, moved to Saint Thomas to teach school (had a classroom with a floor and a roof - no walls needed except the one for the chalkboard and some book shelves. When they decided to leave their island they moved to San Diego because of our "average" temperatures.
One day she arrived at work absolutly livid that the temps had got so low that there was frost on her windshield! LOL - we had to talk about averages and range. San Diego County can range from 110 to 30 but our yearly AVERAGE is in the 70's. Cracked me up!
It even snowed here when I was in 5th grade. And that has been the only time in my 50 years, LOL
I live in the Mossouri Ozarks. We moved here about five years ago now and I would have to say here is such a variety of wildlife and things to do that I am happy here. I can fish in Lake of the Ozarks, go splunking in one of Missouri's many caves, or be where I live in a small glade where lesser road runners can be found. Only downfall is I can also find the Missouri tarantula and scorpions here. Guess I will have to keep checking my shoes lol.
