If you could live in any State in the U.S. where would you live?

Like I said ... too long for me. DH forgot to tell me about the long winters here when he proposed to me. I had lived all my life in Georgia, talk about a climate change

I already live in the Northwest, and. . . Don't want to live here as a dream place. WAY too little sun, WAY too much rain, and it is SO far away from civilization. I'm talking 4 hours to buy a chicken, 1.5 hours to see any chain fastfood, and 5 hours for a chain restaurant or mall. I feel lonely here.

If there was more sun it would be a beautiful place though!!

Otherwise, my dream state is either northern California or Utah; my home state.

Don't know why everyone is down on living in civilization. One of the reasons I like CA is the people. I would go nuts if I lived in an isolated area like the Rocky Mountain or prairie states. To me, the ideal would be to buy a vacant lot in a city and move an old house on it. Or better yet, move into an old house within an established neighborhood with an extra large yard. Just an acre or two for chickens, a big veggie garden and some fruit trees. This way I can have the best of both worlds. A little bit of land for sustainability and everything close enough that I can ride my bike or walk to it. Ahh!! My own urban homestead.

When I used to show A-circuit horse shows in high school, we would go down to Kentucky for March shows (MI shows don't start until May) and we would be very excited, "Wow! There's flowers and leaves! Winter must be over here!
