You shouldn't have spent the last two weeks digging deep holes in the sheltered section of the run for the water to collect in.

I guess all that pine straw I piled in there over the past 6 weeks was just tooooo tempting to chickens bent on excavating.

Any time it rains they complain to me about it as if the bad weather were entirely my fault. Apparently they think I cold conjure up another couple carts of dry pine straw by magic.

I'd swear that they're out to break my ankles by digging holes right where I have to walk to get to the nest boxes and the access door.

Except that the entire pen is full of holes.

Planning The Great Escape, I suppose. After all, Popcorn (the SLW), always has preferred going under the fence rather than over it.
