If You had 300 acers of land, no close neighbours, and a bunch of money

Been dreaming of winning the lottery lately.

I have my eye on 580 + acres of land.
I have it all planned out:
Passive solar house
Geodesic greenhouse - or two
Milking dextor cattle (fresh milk, meat and oxen all rolled into one)
Horses - not sure what type yet - mustang or gaited
Chickens - dual purpose, probably some Buckeye in the mix
a couple of big dogs - possibly a LGD, definately an irish setter or two
a natural swimming pool

Ooh...I'd have:

-a fancy coop with separate coop and run space so that I don't have mutts (unless I want them, of course!)
-horses - I miss having a horse so much
-goats
- a well-maintained pond that I could swim in (I react to chlorinated pools)
-a huge garden

-emus
-pea fowl
-plenty of turkeys

I think I'd sell the 300 acres, buy a five acre piece of land, and keep my current flock size. I don't really want any more animals than I already have, and 300 acres is more land than I'd want to look after.

The same thoughts were running through my head. Why 300 acres? Was that just an arbitrary number; another way of saying "a whole lot of land"? If a person isn't going to seriously put it into production that's a lot of land for pet or hobby animals. If I had a bunch of money I don't think I'd want to work as hard as it would take to make 300 acres viable.

For the animals that the OP listed 10 to 20 acres would be fairly sufficient.
