Didn't think we'd need an egg basket at first, but when we doubled our flock, I started looking around for one. Being the cheapskate that I am, I didn't feel like spending the $20+ for a wire egg basket, and was pleased to find a wire fruit basket with a handle at the grocery store for less than $3. I love seeing the eggs piled up in the basket, but counter space is at a premium around here, so off to the fridge they go when I bring them in.

Sometimes when I know company is coming over, I'll leave that day's haul out for all to admire!

My 22 are not laying yet as they are only 14 weeks. But I am keeping an eye out for a egg basket from now on. We have a couple of nice gifts stores that have egg baskets not to mention thrift stores.
