If you know chickens (which I don't) this should be easy...

I bought this chick as a black australorp. However, she looks more like a barred plymouth rock now that her feathers have come in. Are my amateur chicken identifying skills correct?

If you can sex the chicken even better! The chick was supposed to be sex linked...but she was also supposed to be black. Hmmmm....
Thanks!!

Thanks for the help! Bummer about the roo. "She" was supposed to be my egg layer amongst a bunch of silkies. How can you tell, just out of curiosity? I will have to post my other "sex linked" chicken from the same seller. YIKES!

I really appreciate the help as I learn this new hobby!! Thanks again!

I'm a new chicken person too. The hens will get wattles but they come later. So when you have a chicken at 5-8 weeks with bright red wattles and a comb you know it's a roo.
