I just hate the idea of an animal being killed.

I didn't know what to do when they sent me that email today.

I was hoping that someone from NC would see this and adopt to at least save one.

They sad thing is there is a lab puppy and kittens that are going to be killed this friday.

I wish I had the money to drive down there and save them all. I am a big sucker when it comes to animals and kids. My dream is to open a no kill shelter and go around us and save the animails! you can laugh I know it would take a lot of money for that one.

And I think every body is right about black dogs, because most of them are black. I never knew that until now.

This is Xena, our new pup. We got her 2 weeks ago from petfinder and I swear she was meant to be with us. When I saw her picture, it was like I had to have her. Most of the time it is just an ahh I wish I could get that pup. But this time I had to have her. Then to top it off I was in the wrong parking lot! And I have no cell phone (kids keep getting it and breaking it) But One other person made the same mistake as me and they did have a phone. So they let me know we were in the wrong spot. talk about fate!

Ok Becky I will. I know on this week there is none. There are labs and a few mixes. But that is just NC, I don't know about others. But if I see any I will post it on here under border collie rescue.

I never knew black dogs were euthanized the most. Why is that?

I'm not allowed to visit the rescue centers any more cause I come home with dogs with every intention of finding them homes, and I do - MY OWN.

There is a perception that black dogs are meaner temperment, and the lighter dogs are friendly. So more of the lighter dogs get homes. I was told that when I rescued my Yellow Lab.

Has anyone had any experience with Best Friends no kill shelter? I'm all for no kill shelters and I hear they do allot of good. Th humane society on the other hand should be revamped because they can take someones animal then just to put it to sleep- it would have a better chance running the streets and heart stick that awful

And remember, you can find animals other than dogs and cats through PetFinder. I found a gerbil through them at a local shelter. Poor girl had been kept in the cat room.

I have worked for a no kill shelter here in the area and you have to be careful... although they were no kill there some of the animals were sent to the pound and killed.
