If you won a million $ lottery, what would you buy for yourself?

I'd buy some south facing land somewhere, about 30 acres or so, and build a nice little log cabin complete with wood stove and solar panels and a nice barn for all the animals. DH would build a nice little hobbit house into the hill for his man-cave and I'd need a craft room in the house.

Only one million? That won't buy much these days. Make it a hundred million and I'll start daydreaming. Honestly I don't usually even buy powerball tickets unless it's a hundred million plus.

Okay with that being said, what whould I do with a million? I guess I'd keep on raising chickens until the money was all gone.

I was thinking along the same lines. A million sounds like a lot until you start spending it! For me, about all I'd do is pay off the mortgage and put the rest away to earn interest. Oh, and keep my day job! We live a pretty simple life and I don't want or need anything fancy. Something to pass on to the kids would be nice.

Build my church a building, buy myself more land, solar and wind power, water wells and cisterns, a new post production studio, help a couple missionary friends of mine, build a very energy efficient house... (a million wouldn't last long, but it would make a dent)

I would buy land and build a house designed just for me (I'm short so everything is out of reach). Nothing really fancy or extreme, but nice. Land enough for my horses, a 4 stall barn with a tack room, wash rack, and feed room, a garden and orchard, chickens, and a pond for fishing and swimming. I would buy myself a newer F150 4x4, a 2 horse slant w/ living quarters horse trailer for trail riding. I would spend my time riding, playing with my chickens, growing all the good things I like to eat in my garden, canning and preserving what I need and giving the rest away. Visiting my mom and running her around everywhere she would like to go. Eventually, after I had traveled a bit, I would like to fix my property where I could be more self sufficient...solar power, well water, root celler, a few cows and pigs, etc with a good farm hand guy to help me take care of the animals and heavy work...oops, forgot a tractor! I would like to visit all the states...maybe do that before buying land to see if I liked anywhere better than Tennessee? Hmmm...
