There is a cow farm near us that sells ice cream. Whenever we stop by, we look in on their chickens, too. They have three of those very large igloo dog houses with 2-3 chickens each. No special cutouts or doors... just some hay on the bottom. However, the chickens are in a semi-enclosed barn area with fewer predators.
