Well I'm a little worried. I think the pullet that laid the brighter green one is having trouble. When I let them out to free range yesterday afternoon, she didn't seem interested (very unusual). Then she went into the coop in a nest box and was there for a couple hours. She eventually came out to eat and drink but no egg. Then this morning I noticed still no green egg and she was kind of off by herself and had her eyes closed even with all the commotion of my visit.

I grabbed her (pretty easy because she squatted as soon as I came close) and examined her crop and felt her abdomen and everything felt normal. I went ahead and gave her a Calcium Citrate w/ D3 pill. I hope she's ok...

I hope she's alright - hopefully its nothing too serious and it's just her egg maker working out the kinks.
Thanks, friend! Me too.. I may not name my chickens like you do (still surprised you can remember all of them since it seems like you have HUNDREDS) but I really do care about them.

I have <70 but yeah 18 of them, the youngest chicks - only one has a name yet. The Speckled Sussex -- her name is Sassy!

I spend a lot of time with them and a lot of repetition saying their names to them when I see them. I use a lot of associations with their names to help me remember them, too.

Let us know how it goes with her <3

The pullet is doing well! She's laid 2 eggs since I saw her struggling and she seems back to normal.

In other news, I have another new egg and this one is absolutely stunning. Speckled green!
