I think it might be one of my marans since they're new layers? And the egg was just a wonky one without the typical color. I only have 1 dark brown small egg in the nest box.

I know Eggers can lay brown but if mine have the correct blue egg gene, would the egg shell be blue but the "paint" be dark brown? In other words, if you crack an olive egg, is the inside shell blue?

The inside of the shell was white.

First Onyx Olive egg!

I am just SO happy with this little olive egg! Found this one on the ground in the run so its a little dirty but she'll get the hang of it.
Looks like heavy bloom on one of my Barred Rock eggs today too.

In other news, I thought my Special chicken was going broody. She was in the nest box all day but wasn't egg bound. I finally went to move her off the nest at dusk and the little monster bit me!!

Oddly enough she's acting perfectly normal today.

I find eggs in the poop table from time to time, Coffee in particular loves it LOL

yessss I've seen this too from the younger chickens hahahahaha

I mean, the poop boards have sand and PDZ so it's not exactly BAD for them.... lololol
