I think so too! It was right by one of the feeders so I imagined she was just minding her own business and having a snack then.. surprise!I think at first, they still get caught by surprise, and one just falls on out!

Congrats...that's awesome. They're very pretty. Keep track of those eggs if you can, they may get darker still depending on how many layed.@wrathsfarm you were right! They are darkening and looking absolutely beautiful. Obviously, not as dark as yours but I wasn't expecting that since these are just hatchery blue copper marans (I don't see any copper, though) and not your fancy BCM.

The last few days collection alongside one of my Plymouth Barred Rock eggs for comparison.
I'm so happy with them! Now if I can only get the larger pullet to lay in the nest boxes. She keeps laying in the coop bedding and then my dummy hens see her egg and follow suit. (Even though they've been laying consistently in the boxes their whole lives!)
