of chickens!" was bf's comment to me on one of my stressed out and worried days....

But I suppose it is not abnormal for a new mommy or daddy. So happy that I got past that stage at least for now. lol. Hope I don't revisit.

anyone else have those new parent anxieties? Thank goodness it gets better.

Last time when I hatched out 41 chicks, I wasn't the same for about 2 months.

And now I'm going to go and do it again!

I've been keeping birds for awhile and so far, it hasn't gotten better. I still fret like a maniac over them...drives DH crazy!

Yep, DH says he needs to dress up like a chicken when I've got eggs in the 'bator

ETA: So he can get some attention

LOL! What IS IT about these feathered fuzzies that makes one act so? I've had umpteen pets of different species (even a pet chicken when i was a young teen but it was full grown when i got it) and as much as I've loved my assorted pets, thinking dogs are my favorite - I've NEVER had this momma hen mentality to such a degree.

My husband likes to act like this "chicken thing" is just some little indulgence he grants me to keep me happy but you should see him when those little fuzzy butts start hatching out of their eggs. He's in there peering through the window right next to the kids, fretting about whether they're getting up quick enough and worrying about how long I keep them in the incubator without food and water. LOL~!!!

Isn't that the truth!!!

We have a local small animal auction that I attend on Saturday evenings. Last Saturday, DH was standing behind me and naming the breed of chickens are they were coming up for sale. He got all of the breeds right, too!

Don't tell her what I do to my feeder goldfish (I feed them to the ducks. Poor fish!)
