I'll Fly Away

So sorry for all those whom have lost a loved one.

Last night while singing in the choir we sang a song called "I Call It Home" - it had words like "Some call it heaven, but I call it home." That's where all our loved ones are that have passed - they're home and we'll be able to see them some day as well as Him.

Opa, hugs to you and smiles also......Both parents are now deceased but very alive in my memory.....Amazing Grace was my father's song and In the Garden was my mother's.......I'll fly away was Granny's..... I may just have to request the trio for myself....

My comfort is knowing that I will see them all again one day....I often wonder what would they think of my life on the farm today???

Thanks for this blessed blessed posting.....Just today when I was in a little thrift store, dropping by some clothes, I heard the volunteers talking about their being so upset that their church is taking out the old hymnals and going to new songs..... I would hate to loose all the old songs...they are such treasures....One of My granny's was Bringing in the Sheaves......

She sang it all the time during laundry day....Silly little girl me, I couldn't read and one day at church they asked for a song request......And I of course asked for Bringing in the Sheets...........

Maybe that's what I'll ask to be sung at my celebration....Because I want smiles on the faces of my friends and families....

Thanks again for posting.

I loved it. We needed something to lighten this thread. Something to remind us that no matter how deep the despair, humor is just one of God's way of helping us through it.
