I'll show you mine if you show me yours - Coops that is! :)

Wow! What great coops! Wish I had seen these before I built mine

Mine is a pre-fab coop and tiny run within a dog run. Not the prettiest thing, but it works for five hens who are allowed to free range 2-3 times per week. It now has hardware cloth securing the tarp and a homemade spare wood and hardware cloth frame door overlay after a possum attack killed one of the chickens. It also has two freecycled mounted shelves and a spare wood ladder at the back, secured by zip ties to add more "square footage" and roosting space.

Here's ours.....free pallets from work, discarded wood from BF place of employment, shipping box of some type. Purchased nails, staples, roofing, 2 sheets of plywood and a few fencing boards. Painted with old paint we had out in the shed. Not too bad for first timers! Girls seem to be loving their new home!

My husband and I along with a few of our employees built our first coop this past spring....large enough for up to 50 chickens and we have 42 at the moment ( I am always looking for some new varieties) so I still have room for a few more!
