@Faraday40 it's my Styrofoam one. The little Janoel inky is on top. So many more have pipped too.

Do you lock down with them in an egg carton? Or do you keep them in there the whole time?4 fuzzies so far. 3 here and 1 in the little one.View attachment 2085313
Yes, spinach, arugula were up, I also had mustard and brussel sprouts, not up.I am amazed you had sprouts out already. Cold hardy crops?
I started using half foam egg cartons last year after @Faraday40 suggested it. I have found that it really seems to help them hatch faster. I usually leave them in the inky for the first 24 hours. For some reason, the chicks in my smaller inky are fluffing up much better than the ones in the larger foam one. They seemed content dog piling each other, so I left them all there for the night. I'll move the ones that have already hatched to the brooder in the morning.Do you lock down with them in an egg carton? Or do you keep them in there the whole time?
Do you think it's an improvement on a flashlight and duct tape? This is cool. I don't want to pay $100 for it though.

I think so, especially since you wouldn't need total darkness to use this.Do you think it's an improvement on a flashlight and duct tape?

Nah, I'll just stick to my flashlight with carbboard and duct tape. Too pricey for my budget just to look into an egg.I think so, especially since you wouldn't need total darkness to use this.
