Illinois...

It's been there for at least the 4 years I've been going there. It's right at Weber and Airport if you are familiar with the area.
OK,,,, you just mistaken the Village. I have been to that one last time I needed Chicken feed, and hay.

Romeoville... not sure why I put Lockport. Definitely not Lockport. Sorry for that confusion.
Reason I asked,,, because there are other feed stores around, like Tractor Supply, Big R (now Stock and Field) and such,
I always like to explore new stores if possible. I thought there was one such in Lockport. :idunno

I was at the Romeoville store on Sat. Absolutely NO CHICKS!
Well, on Wednesday there was a bunch. They are in a different spot now though. Instead of over by customer service they are in the middle of the store. I honestly didn't notice when I walked in, but as we where headed from the feed isles to the register (stopping for candy along the way of course) I noticed it ahead of us and went over to check things out. What really caught my attention was every heat lamp was running. Any other time I've seen chicks in there this year they were over by customer service and while there were 4 tubs for chicks only one or two would have heat lamps on and chicks in it.

Bored here...

It rained earlier unexpectedly. The weather said partly cloudy for me and then I got done working and noticed everything was wet outside. I need to keep working on the duck run, but I am not going to dig and move dirt when it's wet. The garden got waterer by mother nature though which was a plus. Our chickens are happy now that their run is quite clean. Still a big stack of pavers in there behind the shed, but they don't seem to mind. They even don't mind the two older ducks hanging out with them while the duck run is being renovated. The little ducks are still enjoying the lawn. Btw, @Faraday40 I need to get a pic of the duckling that was very yellow at hatch. It still looks much lighter than the others. Not white, but definitely different. I think it's going to end up being a very light brown.

I didn't get a drop of rain.
Too hot for me to do anything.
I did get the sweet potato slips I started in the ground yesterday. Don't know if I will get anything from them.
I tried starting sweet potatoes last year. The slips grew great indoors. I started them in water with sweet potato halves partially submerged. I had a lot of slips develop. The rabbits ate them within days of planting outside though. I didn't bother this year. Maybe I'll try again next year. It would be nice to have a harvest of them. This year's new root crops are some different potatoes (purple and pink) and Jerusalem artichokes. It looks like I can expect a harvest from this year's newby root crops at least.

Perhaps I missed them. I went to the customer service and chicken feed areas (and candy as well :p ). I don't recall hearing peeping or seeing heat lamps. I'm sure the kids would have mentioned it.

I purposely went on a Saturday because both times I went to the Montgomery store (on a Mon & Thurs) they said they usually get chicks on Fri afternoon and sell out by Sunday afternoon. I think 1st weekend of June was supposed to be the last shipment (at least the last shipment of special order chicks). I certainly don't "need" any more chicks.
* I'm just nervous that my silkies might be male, so I was sort of hoping to stumble upon a silkie bin. I'll have to post pics to get some predictions.
