Illinois...

Do they still have Muscovy duck waddling around?
Took DD to silver springs state park between Yorkville and Millbrook. They have 2 great ponds to take little ones fishing and they have some hiking trails that looked great though I didn't have time to enjoy them.

Big r has another new name

Anybody ever check out Garden of the Gods in southern IL? I never heard of it until yesterday, and it's about a 2.5hr drive I think. It came up on a google search for family things to do in IL. It looks amazing in the pics. I might plan an overnight trip down there to check it out.
Sounded interesting, so I looked it up. Pics are amazing! Google says drive is about 5.5 hours - unless you drive like @BReeder! and can get there in 2.5:p

I'll have to remember that one. Never heard of Silver Springs but I'm just East of Yorkville so is likely not too far.

Never heard of R.P. Home & Harvest. I might check it out though if they keep the Morris location. I don't mind the drive to Morris and we get burrito bowls at a place down the street from where the Big R was at.
The Morris store is open, so is Homer Glen

Our family went camping at a Koa camp spot in Casey IL. It's 3 hours south of us in the middle of nowhere. Absolutely nothing to do except look at all the "big" things in the small town. Like the largest mailbox, largest birdcage, largest pitchfork, yardstick, windchill, knitting needles.....it was a long boring, miserable weekend.

My oldest really wanted to go to garden of the gods. It was another 2 and1/2 hours from Casey. So about 5 hours south from here. You would probably need a couple of days to visit and see most everything.
