Illinois...

Just took this a few min ago. The trick-or-treaters are enjoying our silkie-witch.
Happy Halloween!

Ironic that was last post was about Rubble not being around the birds. He got into the duck pen today and our drake did his job but Rubble was winning the fight. Our drake, who is the only drake since I just processed the rest and kept this one to hopefully breed in the Spring, has a puncture wound on his right cheek, a cut left lower eye lid and possible some additional wounds on his neck. Bleeding wasn't terrible though so no arterial damage from what I can tell.
He wasn't looking good when DW bright him in. Wrapped him in a towel and put him on a comfy dog bed with a bowl of water nearby. Now he's holding his neck in a more normal position, picking his head up occasionally and drank some water.
I'll need to run to Farm and Fleet later to grab some blu-coat or similar product. I think he's going to pull through, but might be a house duck for a few days.
I also need to move the logs piled inferring of the duck pen as Rubble climbed them and then jumped over the fence. Still quite a jump for a little Frenchie.

Last night we did our 1st "trunk or treat" (Rain delay but actually worked out as a way to help give away the excessive amount of candy we received.) We don't have many Halloween decorations, so decided to do a penguin theme (We have a lot of those! DS LOVES penguins) Each kid got a poor penguin pun before receiving their candy. I guess many others like penguins too because we won a prize. I was very impressed with all the creative displays.

Prayers he makes it.
