Standard Bronze & Bourbon Red Turkeys I also raise Ringneck and Melanistic Pheasants that all are NPIP certified. I only have a few Bourbon Red adults available now or I will have hatching eggs and day old poults available in the spring.

Hi, we are new to BYC. We live in Baileyville just south of Freeport, IL. My son is going to show chickens in 4-H. We would like to know if anyone has bought chickens from Schlecht hatchery in Iowa?

I have purchased my meat birds from Schlecht for four years now. Great family to do business with. Healthy chicks and great prices too!! I can not say anything about the other breeds they carry since I haven't gotten any from them. What type of chicken does your son want for 4-H?

He is looking for some Buff Orpingtons, Brown Leghorn, and GLW.

I hope someone else will post that has gotten some of these breeds so you can have some first hand knowledge from them. When is the 4-H up there? I am just south of you in Lee County and our fair is always the last weekend in July.

I'm new here. Outside of Peoria IL. Have a few laying hens...assorted breeds. Am looking to expand my hen count...hoping to find some girls that need homes...Or I will wait til early spring to get chicks...
